Group Study Exchange

What is Group Study Exchange?

The Group Study Exchange (GSE) program of The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International is a unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for young business and professional men and women between the ages of 25 and 40 in the initial years of their professional life. The program provides travel grants for teams of participants to exchange visits between paired areas in different countries. For four to six weeks, team members study the host country’s institutions and ways of life, observe their own vocations as practiced abroad, develop personal and professional relationships, and exchange ideas. Team members can come from corporations, small businesses, community organizations, medical and educational facilities, government offices, and nonprofit agencies.

Highlights from the 2012 Incoming GSE Team Visit (Brazil):

The following are some photos and information regarding the 2012 GSE Team, who came from Brazil to visit us in the Spring of 2012.  A special thanks to Gwen Williams for putting this information together.

The team’s visit here in Hunterdon County included a trip to the Statue of Liberty, a guided tour of the US Capitol, and a 30 minute sit down meeting with Congressman Leonard Lance.  When the team left Hunterdon County, Doug Merritt of Vandermark Glass gave each member of the team a hand blown glass remembrance of their visit.  The team expressed their thanks to the Flemington Rotary Club for the trip to Washington DC as it was a “trip of a lifetime” they were glad to be able to do.  Gwen Williams, Co-chair GSE Hunterdon County
