Hunterdon County Rotary Soup Cook-Off

Joint Effort by the Hunterdon County Rotary Clubs:

The Rotary Clubs of Hunterdon County present the Annual Hunterdon County Rotary Soup Cook-Off every year in February at the Hunterdon Central Regional High School Commons, 29 Junction Road, Flemington, NJ, 08822.

This event is organized and run as a joint effort by the Rotary Clubs of Flemington, Clinton Sunrise, North Hunterdon, and Whitehouse.  We are service clubs dedicated to helping people in our community and throughout the world. The event is held at the end of February in recognition of Rotary International’s Anniversary, which had its very first meeting on February 23, 1905 in Room 711 of the Unity Building in Chicago as convened by Rotary founder Paul P. Harris.

DO YOU MAKE THE BEST SOUP IN HUNTERDON COUNTY?

A maximum of 20 restaurants enter their favorite soup, competing for a “Best Soup in Hunterdon County” trophy (The SOUPER Bowl). This trophy is like the “Stanley Cup” of hockey, passed on from year to year.

An admission fee and a food donation to the Food Pantry entitles food lovers to enjoy sample-size cups of any and all entered soups, plus the opportunity to vote for your favorite.

At the end of the evening, two trophies will be awarded; one for PEOPLE’S CHOICE and one for JUDGE’S CHOICE.  Each champion will have the honor of displaying the coveted SOUPER BOWL TROPHIES in their restaurant for the year. An additional award will be presented for the BEST VISUAL PRESENTATION so be creative in your table presentation.

There is no entry fee for food providers, restaurants & their chefs. Soups must be fully prepared when brought to Commons at HCRHS – 10 gallons requested. Each soup must be labeled with the chef’s (restaurant) name and contact information.

Chefs and their restaurants will be responsible for presentation and equipment needed to keep the soup ready to serve. Participants will be selected on a first come, first-served basis, limited to 20 professional contestants.  Refer to the restaurant registration form for additional information.

The Hunterdon County Rotary Soup Cook-Off is a community awareness project of the Rotary Clubs of Hunterdon County, dedicated to helping people in our community. All cook-off proceeds will be donated to the food pantries of Hunterdon County to fight HUNGER IN HUNTERDON.
