On behalf of the Rotary Club of Flemington, we hope you have a Very Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
Meeting Program: The speaker for tomorrow’s Rotary meeting (Wed, 11/25) is our own Kim Metz. She will be speaking to us about Polytech's HCP Academy of Health Sciences. This is a regular lunch meeting at Copper Hill Country Club at 12:15pm.
SAC Committee Holiday Giving: Every year, Flemington Rotary’s SAC Committee (Service Action Committee) works with local charities to identify families in need. SAC has a budget of $1500 that is used to purchase gifts for these local area families to help them better enjoy the holidays. In previous years, SAC has identified these families through the Flemington Area Food Pantry. This year, we are working with the Salvation Army as the Food Pantry is no longer involved in gift distribution. SAC is looking to get a wish list of items needed and will need Rotary volunteers to help shop for the families. The number of families we shop for is 3 to 5 depending on the size of the family. Karen Widico and Gwen Williams have volunteered to help with the shopping and we can use one or two more shoppers! If anyone else is able to help, please contact Karen Widico at kwidico@hunterdonprevention.com or Tel(908) 782-3909.
Additionally, at the Rotary Holiday Party, we ask Rotarians to voluntarily bring an unwrapped (but a gift bag is appreciated!) gift to supplement the shopping. Rotarians have always provided great support for this. The types of items typically requested are:
*Men and Women’s socks
*Toiletry sets
*Craft kits
*Toddler toys-trucks
*Gift cards to: Walmart, Kohl’s and Borders.
